This is my story at 32. Life hasnโt been a straight road (at least for me). Itโs been full of detours, breakdowns, and unexpected turns that somehow led me here.
Iโm a mom of two, still figuring things out one day at a time. And while social media often makes it seem like everyone has it all together, yeah yeah! I donโt. Haha! But thatโs okay. Because real life isnโt perfect. I donโt think Iโd want it to be. Too perfect would be kinda boring anyway, right? The mess, the laughter, the in-between momentsโฆ thatโs where the real beauty is :’)
Because hereโs the truthโฆ growth doesnโt come from perfect days. It comes from the messy ones.
Pandemic Changed Everything (2020)
Like many, the pandemic completely changed my life. Before that, I was just your regular 8-to-5 employee, safe, predictable, comfortable. Then the world shut downโฆ and suddenly, everything felt uncertain. Going to work got harder (imagine: no work, no pay… and if you do work, thereโs no jeepney hahaha), and I started thinking, โOh Wait wait wait!, is this really the life I want?โ
To make the story short, I made a choice. I left my company and took a leap. I tried my luck, hoping to find something I could earn from. No backup plan, no experience, just a strong determination to provide for my family. Thatโs when I discovered the world of Freelancing.
It was super overwhelming at first. I had to learn everything. Photoshop, Illustrator, spreadsheets, formulas, macros, etc. etc. You name it, I probably tried it lol.
I still remember this one interview. The client goes, โThere are so many VAs out there pretending they know what theyโre doing, but they actually donโt.โ And Iโm sitting there like, โUhhh yeahโฆโ while my brainโs yelling, โOh no, thatโs literally me!โ hahaha :’D
But I didnโt give up. I just kept learning and trying until one day, boom! I landed my first data entry job. Three days in and I made over 200+ USD. Like, what?! Three days! And it wasnโt even full-time haha ๐
After that, I started doing all sorts of stuff; formatting documents, setting up courses in Systeme.io, and a bunch more. Every task taught me something new, and honestly, it felt so good to finally see my hard work turning into something real.
Then I met my long time client, and I owe her so much. Sheโs the one who taught me how to do social media management(Pinteresting) and she still shares tips and ideas with me to this day.
Not long after, I got to work with these two fabulous ladies from my dream land, New Zealand. Theyโre some of the kindest people Iโve ever met… sometimes I still canโt believe clients like them actually exist. They believed in me, trusted my work, and supported me more than they probably realize.
These amazing clients inspired me to start blogging… not just to improve my skills, but to share what Iโve learned and hopefully help a few people along the way too.
So can you see it now? Different tasks, new challenges, fresh learnings, it really drives me crazy! Every day feels like an adventure, and I love it!
Of course, it hasnโt all been easy. Every adventure comes with its share of mistakes, and trust me, Iโve had plenty! But each one taught me something valuable.
- You donโt have to know everything to start. Taking the first step matters more than feeling ready.
- Every skill can be learned. I once knew nothing about SEO, and now itโs what I do every day.
- Challenges are growth in disguise. When things feel tough, it means youโre evolving.
- If you stay inside your box, youโll never see the beauty outside it. Fear keeps you safe, but it also keeps you small.
The Hardest Job: Mom Life + Work Life
Hereโs the part social media doesnโt show. Being a work-from-home mom is not aesthetic Pinterest boards. Itโs messy. Like, really messy
There are days Iโm typing with one hand while rocking my baby with the other. Days when I cook dinner while replying to client messages. Nights when I donโt sleep because my kids wonโt sleep, but deadlines donโt wait.
But somewhere in all that everyday mess, I found something really good. My two kids are growing up right beside me. Weโre together every day, and Iโm the one raising them. And that? Thatโs what makes me the happiest.
Every sleepless night, every tear, every stretch of patience, itโs all for my kidsโ future. And even if it doesnโt look perfect, itโs real.
Why I Started This Blog
I didnโt start this blog to show off or anything. Iโm still figuring stuff out too. I just wanted to write because I know what itโs like to feel stuck and tired, and I wanna share because honestly, I feel that way sometimes too.
This blog is my way of saying: Youโre not alone!
Itโs not all pretty or perfect. Itโs just real stuff, the stories, the struggles, and those tiny wins that actually count. Some days are good, some days arenโt. Thatโs just how it is.
So next time you think youโre not โdoing enough,โ remember:
youโre building a life, not chasing a finish line.
Lessons I Hold On To
- Change isnโt the end, itโs the start of something new.
- You donโt have to be perfect, just present.
- Progress beats perfection, always.
- Sleepless nights are temporary, but the growth lasts forever.
- Youโre never too old, too late, or too new to begin again.
Looking Ahead
I donโt have it all figured out. Iโm learning, growing, and trying to build a life that actually feels good, even if itโs kinda messy and all over the place sometimes.
This is my real life. My own version. And honestly, I wouldnโt swap it for anyoneโs โperfectโ feed.
So yeah, hereโs my vibe at 32. Messy, beautiful, exhausting, and inspiring all at once haha. And if youโre reading this thinking your storyโs too small or too unfinished, itโs really not.
Iโm not chasing some fancy version of success right now. Iโm just showing up, doing what I love, learning as I go, and choosing what makes me happy. Thatโs enough for me.
Your vibeโs worth sharing. Your storyโs worth living. And your messy, beautiful, real life is totally enough.
If youโve been through something similar, drop it in the comments. Iโd love to hear what your messy, beautiful real life looks like. Maybe your storyโs the one someone needs today.
